The free read
When you type a domain and press Read the Records, the domain, the services you ticked and any selectors you typed are sent to our server, which asks public DNS servers (Cloudflare's 1.1.1.1 and Google's 8.8.8.8) for that domain's published records and returns what they say. Nothing from the read is stored by us. Our host, Vercel, keeps request logs that include your IP address for a short time, as every web host does; we use the address only to limit reads to twenty a minute from one address, in the memory of the running function, and keep no copy of it.
When you buy the record set
Payment is taken by Stripe on its own checkout page; we never see your card. The order carries the domain, the services you ticked, your DNS host, any selectors you typed and the email address you gave us, written into the order's metadata at Stripe. Each morning for 45 days our daily read writes one line about your domain's published records to the same order. That is the whole of what we keep. It is kept at Stripe and nowhere else: we have no database of our own.
We use your email address for two things: the link to your plan, and a note on the day the record shows a new step. Those messages are sent through Resend. We send no marketing, and we never sell or share your address.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies, loads no analytics, and runs no advertising or tracking scripts. Stripe's checkout page, which you reach only when you choose to pay, is governed by Stripe's own privacy policy.
Who processes data for us
- Vercel hosts the site and the functions that read DNS.
- Stripe takes payment and stores the order and its daily record.
- Resend sends the two kinds of email described above.
How long it is kept, and your rights
An order and its daily record stay in Stripe for as long as Stripe keeps payment records, which accounting law usually requires for several years. You may ask us to see the data held about your order, to correct it, or to remove the parts the law does not require us to keep. Contact us at the address above and we will answer within 30 days. Where the law where you live gives you further rights, such as the right to complain to a data protection authority, those apply too.
Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and anything that changes what we collect is named on this page before it takes effect.
